THE SCENIC ROUTE (pre-production/research)
The Scenic Route is a hybrid narrative/cinema verité film currently in research and pre-production stages. Set in the awkward and temporary intimacy of a cross-country bus ride, the film chronicles the journey of several passengers on distinctly different journeys. Through the development of their short-lived relationships, as well as their own internal reflections, THE SCENIC ROUTE illuminates unlikely intimacy and well-worn patterns of American culture, bringing us to places, emotionally and geographically, that we don’t often get to go.
Below are photographs from an initial scouting and research trip on a bus from New York to San Francisco.
